There was a mini high school reunion of sorts a few weeks ago at Kim’s birthday. I hadn’t seen some folks in a while and the separation allowed a veneer of awkwardness to the collect on the conversations. The first greetings were strange and it felt like talking to old acquaintances than old friends. It was exciting then, to clear the dust and hear about their adventures since high school.

Speaking with each, one thing became embarrassingly obvious: I’m one lazy bastard. The disparity between what they had accomplished and the nothing I’ve done was a little troubling, and I’m feeling a little too old to play the college bum character any more.

Jenny and a Mark think its a habitual failing and I tend to agree. I feel slothful all over and its really hard to motivate myself to do anything these days. So to help get things back in order, I’m gonna use this blog to keep track of my projects so that you, the viewer, can gently harass me when I’m doing nothing.

Some things to expect this week: A quick semi-dynamic shading test Sunday based on this conjecture, a character animated test derived from it on Monday, some story boards for a 10 second animation short Tuesday, and some character sketches during the week.

Raishad described the last website effort as an out of control mess that threatened to destroy all hope for a productive summer. Unfortunately he was right. My blasé approach ironically combined with my usual want to overdo, stalled all work and effectively murdered that albatross.

So lets just dump that bird and not tell anyone, huh?

I'm reworking the site from scratch so things will be looking bland the next few days. This neccesitates a slight readjustment to the calendar, but hopefully this won't affect production.

A reasoned statement of purpose for this website and blog will be made later today at a more reasonable hour. I just needed to score 400 punches in my ongoing Out of State feud with Raishad.
